The National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND) is a strategic partner of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP), playing a vital role in mobilizing resources and supporting large-scale environmental restoration in the Kaptagat ecosystem. As a leading environmental financing institution in Kenya, NETFUND supports KICP through funding, logistical coordination, and community engagement, enabling the successful planting of hundreds of thousands of indigenous and fruit tree seedlings across degraded forest areas such as Sabor, Kessup, Penon, Kipkabus, and Kaptagat. NETFUND also facilitates the distribution of avocado tree seedlings to promote agroforestry and sustainable livelihoods among local communities. By aligning with KICP’s conservation goals, NETFUND strengthens Kenya’s efforts to restore water towers, combat climate change, and achieve the national target of growing 15 billion trees by 2032.
