Target

The main objective of Kaptagat Annual Tree Planting

To undertake rehabilitate degraded forest areas and riparian areas within Kaptagat Forest Ecosystems and adjoining landscape to restore catchments, protect water springs and increase the ability of the ecosystem to provide goods and services

To create and raise public awareness and inculcate culture of tree growing in the population and beyond the landscape region

To mobilise stakeholders and resources in the region to participate in ingoing national tree planting growing campaigns towards raising the national tree cover from 13.13% to 30% by 2023 by planting 15 billion trees

To enhance governance of community Forest Associations (CFAs) to be actively involved in co-management and conservation programs in the forest reserves and adopting alternatives technology in energy ,, livestock farming , promotion of high value fruit trees to reduce pressure on forest resources

To enhance the capacity of Kaptagat ecosystem as a model training facility that has a global regonition.
