The Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) has evolved from a local tree-growing initiative into a national conservation model. Led by community partnerships and supported by government, development organisations and private-sector partners, the programme combines forest restoration with clean energy, water access, sustainable agriculture and livelihoods. Its approach is now being replicated across more than 30 landscapes as Kenya advances its ambitious tree-growing and forest restoration goals.
