For ten years, the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) has demonstrated that environmental conservation and community livelihoods must go hand in hand to build a sustainable future through community-driven, sustainable environmental initiatives.
Today in Nairobi, Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) officially launched the 10th Edition of the programme, with the main celebrations scheduled for 11th July 2026 to be graced by H.E. the President Dr. William Ruto, marking a decade of impact in restoring the Kaptagat ecosystem and empowering communities across the region.
Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) thanks Dr. Raymond Omollo, Principal Secretary (Interior & National Administration), Dr. Eng. Festus Ng’eno (Environment and Climate Change) and Ephantus Kimotho (Irrigation) for supporting this model of conservation, which has since been replicated across the country by other leaders and institutions.
As Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) begins the next chapter of “10 to 20,” the programme remains committed to the Government’s national target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032, restoring ecosystems and strengthening livelihoods.
