The Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (ICP) continues to support initiatives that expand access to technical education and skills development, recognizing the critical role of cooperatives in driving economic growth and strengthening livelihoods across Kenya.

As part of the Government’s commitment to empowering young people, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) remains a top priority—equipping learners with practical skills in agribusiness, cooperative management, and value addition to meet the demands of a modern economy.

In Ainabkoi Constituency, a major milestone was achieved with the groundbreaking of a new TVET institute at the Co-operative University of Kenya (CuK) Ainabkoi Campus. The facility is set to enhance access to industry-relevant training and create new pathways to employment and entrepreneurship for youth in the region.

The event brought together key leaders, including Samuel Chepkong’a, Julius Rutto, Evans Kapkea, and Kamau Ngamau, reflecting strong collaboration in advancing education and development.

In addition, 10 new classrooms were commissioned at Kileges Primary School through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund, providing an improved learning environment and supporting quality basic education.

Through investments in TVET and school infrastructure, Kaptagat ICP and its partners are helping to build a skilled workforce, unlock economic opportunities, and drive sustainable community transformation across Uasin Gishu and beyond.
