The Government of Kenya continues to prioritize education by ensuring a smooth transition of all Grade 10 learners into senior school, while investing in improved learning infrastructure across the country. This commitment is central to strengthening the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework and expanding access to quality education.
At St. Agatha Mokwo Girls Secondary School, renewed efforts are underway to restore the institution to its former status as a centre of academic excellence. Once known for producing top-performing students who have gone on to serve the nation, the school has experienced a decline in performance over the years. However, recent initiatives signal a strong turnaround.
In a show of unity and shared purpose, leaders and community members came together in a solidarity walk aimed at restoring hope and reaffirming their commitment to reviving the school. The event was attended by Felix Koskei, Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen, and other national and local leaders, demonstrating strong government support for education and community development.
Beyond education, the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme is also driving economic empowerment through sustainable livelihood initiatives. During the event, local farmers benefited from the distribution of improved dairy cows, Dorper sheep, and Super Napier animal feed—interventions designed to boost agricultural productivity, household incomes, and food security while supporting forest conservation.
These efforts align with the broader national development agenda under the leadership of William Samoei Ruto, which focuses on inclusive growth, community empowerment, and long-term economic transformation.
Through strategic investments in education and livelihoods, Kaptagat ICP and its partners are helping to build resilient communities, restore institutional excellence, and create sustainable opportunities for future generations.
