World Wide Fund for Nature Kenya (WWF-Kenya) is a key partner in the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP), supporting large-scale forest restoration and sustainable ecosystem management in the Kaptagat landscape. WWF-Kenya provides financial resources, technical expertise, and strategic guidance to enhance conservation efforts across gazetted forest reserves such as Sabor, Kaptagat, Penon, and Kipkabus. Through this partnership, WWF-Kenya has contributed hundreds of thousands of indigenous tree seedlings, supported the establishment of commercial woodlots, and promoted agroforestry to strengthen community livelihoods. WWF-Kenya also plays a vital role in ecosystem policy development, including support for the Integrated Master Plan for the Rehabilitation and Restoration of the Cherangany–Elgeyo Hills Ecosystem. This collaboration is central to achieving Kenya’s national tree growing targets and building climate resilience in one of the country’s most critical water tower regions.
