Preparations for the 10th Edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) entered the final phase on July 7, 2026, as stakeholders met to coordinate the remaining activities ahead of the landmark conservation event scheduled for July 11, 2026, at Kaptarkok Primary School in Kaptarakwa Ward. The event is expected to be presided over by H.E. the President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto and will focus on restoring the Kaptagat Forest ecosystem.

The final planning meeting brought together key government leaders, including Gitonga Mugambi(PS Forestry), Kello Harsama (PS Petroleum), Gideon Kimaiyo (MP Keiyo South), and Alex Lemarkoko (Chief Conservator of Forests), to review progress and ensure the successful delivery of the conservation programme. The meeting also recognized the support of Stanbic Bank Kenya and Sidian Bank, whose contributions, channelled through the Kenya Forest Service, will strengthen conservation efforts across the Kaptagat Forest ecosystem.
