The Kaptagat Cycling Challenge 2026 successfully brought together cyclists, government leaders, and local communities in a powerful demonstration of how sport can drive environmental conservation. As one of the flagship build-up activities for the 10th Edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP), the event highlighted the importance of restoring and protecting the Kaptagat Forest, one of Kenya’s vital water towers.
Following the cycling challenge, national and county leaders joined residents in a tree-planting exercise and a conservation walk, reaffirming their shared commitment to preserving the Kaptagat Forest ecosystem. The event showcased the impact of collaborative conservation efforts while celebrating the participants and winners who made the 2026 edition a memorable success.
