The Kaptagat Cycling Challenge successfully brought together professional cyclists, paracyclists and cycling enthusiasts to champion environmental conservation, healthy living and sustainable development. Held on 4th July 2026, the challenge built momentum towards the 10th Edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) celebrations scheduled for 11th July 2026, an event set to be graced by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto.

Ahead of the event, the KICP organising team held a final planning meeting at the KICP Eldoret Office on 3rd July 2026 to confirm readiness. Participants were flagged off from Kaptagat Farmers Resort along the Eldoret–Ravine Road in Keiyo South, Elgeyo Marakwet County, and completed an 80-kilometre course featuring approximately 960 metres of cumulative elevation gain through the scenic Kaptagat Forest ecosystem. The challenge showcased one of Kenya’s most important water towers while reinforcing the importance of environmental conservation, healthy lifestyles and sustainable development.
