The Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) has taken another major step toward its landmark 10th edition celebrations following a stakeholder meeting held in Nairobi on June 4, 2026. Led by Patron Dr. Chris Kiptoo, Principal Secretary at the National Treasury, the meeting brought together professionals and partners from the Kaptagat Ecosystem to strengthen collaboration ahead of the main event on July 11, 2026.
Under the theme “10 to 20: Restore. Sustain. Transform.”, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to environmental conservation, ecosystem restoration, and community empowerment. The Kaptagat Ecosystem remains a vital water tower supporting livelihoods in Uasin Gishu and neighboring counties while supplying a significant portion of Eldoret City’s water needs.
The programme will culminate on July 11, 2026, with a major tree-planting exercise and the celebration of 10 years of conservation achievements, expected to be graced by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto.
