The Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) partners with the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP) to advance environmental sustainability and forest restoration in the Kaptagat ecosystem. As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, KDIC supports tree planting initiatives aimed at rehabilitating degraded forest areas across key sites such as Sabor, Kaptagat, Kipkabus, Kessup, and Penon forest stations. By contributing to the planting of indigenous and fruit tree seedlings, KDIC plays a vital role in restoring vital water catchments within the Cherangany–Elgeyo Hills Water Tower while enhancing biodiversity and climate resilience. This partnership also promotes community engagement and eco-conscious financial leadership, reflecting KDIC’s commitment to sustainable development. Through its collaboration with KICP, KDIC helps further Kenya’s national goal of planting 15 billion trees by 2032, supporting both environmental conservation and socio-economic growth in one of the country’s most critical ecosystems.
