Residents of Emsoo Ward in Keiyo North Constituency are set to benefit from improved water access following ongoing rehabilitation and expansion works at the Emsoo Dam water distribution project.
The project, supported by the Kerio Valley Development Authority, aims to enhance water supply for domestic use, micro-irrigation, and livestock in both the upper and lower valley areas of Emsoo Ward.
Planned upgrades include dam desilting, excavation works to increase water storage capacity, embankment improvement, erosion protection measures, extension of the water pipeline network, installation of water tanks, fencing, and environmental conservation activities to ensure long-term sustainability.
As part of environmental restoration efforts, indigenous trees were also planted to help protect and restore the Elgeyo Forest Block ecosystem.
The Emsoo Dam project is expected to improve livelihoods, strengthen food security through irrigation, and provide reliable water access for local communities.
